My return flight from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh was delayed by over an hour due to rain. One of the downfalls of running an airline from open tarmac is that when there’s lightning, Malaysian regulations (and common sense) say it’s not a good idea to be working on a large flat area.
That didn’t stop them from refuelling the plane.
We walked out to the plane, waited, and were turned back, only to be called five minutes later to repeat the process. The only issue was the lack of luggage. And so we waited longer.
