New map feature on the blog
I’ve been geotagging my posts since I first started blogging. In fact, that was one of the capabilities I was looking for when I originally chose WordPress. Unfortunately, the plugin I was using no longer appears to work in version 2.5.1 of WordPress.
I’ve switched to the wp-geo plug-in. I like that it puts a map at the bottom of each post that has coordinates, but I miss the feature where I had a page with a pin on a map for every post like was found in the Plug ‘n’ Play Google Map plug-in.
The only problem I’ve found with wp-geo is that it doesn’t seem to save locations of draft posts. If I open the post later, it’s lost the coordinates.
The biggest pain was figuring out how to export all the old geographic coordinates and import them into the new format.
I’m also amused that the satellite photos in Google Maps are old enough that my apartment building is still a dirt field.

Thanks for writing about my WP Geo WordPress plugin Chad.
I will be adding an option for displaying a map of all your geo-tagged posts in the future – although I’m currently working through a raft of minor improvements and fixes.
I don’t seem to be able to replicate the problem you’re having with coordinates not being remembered when you save a post. Please would you let me know which version of the plugin and which version of WordPress you are using.
Many thanks
